https://high5test.com/strengthsfinder-free/
Able to sort through the clutter and find the best route. Not a skill that can be taught, but a distinct way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large. The Strategic sees patterns where others see complexity. Able to play out alternative scenarios, always asking “what if this or that happened” to evaluate accurately potential obstacles. Selections are made once the path is clearly seen. Paths which lead to resistance, or into the fog of confusion are discarded. The Strategic culls and makes selections until the correct path is found – the “strategy". Strategics have this decision process: 1) “What If?” 2) Decide/Select 3) Strike.
Strategics see repercussions more clearly than others which gives the advantage of knowing how to detail responses in advance. Detailed conversations, and exploring alternative paths help the Strategic become even better at anticipating. Strategics trust their intuition and insight even if they are not yet fully able to explain them to Rationals. They have confidence in their anticipations. Time to muse helps the Strategic see patterns, issues, and obstacles. To help others understand what they see ahead, Strategics need to learn how to describe well what they see. Best partnered with an Activator.
2. Ideation http://www.gallup.com/businessjournal/679/ideation.aspx
Fascinated by ideas. Delighted to discover elegantly simple concepts beneath the complex surface. The Ideation’s mind is always looking for connections, and is pleased when seemingly disparate phenomena can be connected or linked. Enjoys new perspectives on familiar challenges, novelty. Revels in turning perspective to see the world from an entirely different and enlightening angle. Energized by things which are profound, novel, clarifying, contrary, bizarre. Labeled as creative or conceptual, smart. Bores quickly. Seeks brainstorming. Enjoys space and time to think. Needs to discuss ideas with others to refine them by their responses.
Driven by “When can we start?”. Analysis may be useful for discussion and insight, but only action makes things happen. Others may worry that “there are still things we don’t know”, but the Activator isn’t slowed down by this. Success is not made by waiting.
Action and thinking are not opposites. Action is the best device for learning. Make a decision, take action, look at the result, learn. Learning informs the next action and so on. How can growth happen without something real to react to? Activators know they will be judged by what gets done. They aren’t afraid of action, but pleased by it.
Fascinated by the future. Can see the future in detail and drawn to that vision. Seeks to be inspired by a better product, team, life, world. Sees visions of what could be and cherishes them. When the present is too frustrating or pragmatic, visions of the future provide energy for the Futuristic and others around them. People look to Futuristics to describe their vision of the future. They want a picture that can raise their sights and spirits. People want to latch onto the hope the futuristic brings. Partnering with an Activator helps the Futuristic understand that the future is not discovered, it is created by daily actions.
Drawn toward people already known. Does not shy away from meeting new people. Enjoys turning strangers into friends. Seeks to empathize with others feelings, goals, fears, and dreams and wants to be equally understood. Relationships hold value when they are genuine. Risks being taken advantage of. Tends to give honest feedback. Identifies and responds to a struggling friend with acts of caring.
